As has been the case throughout our history, finances are the number one reason for problems in a marriage. More arguments and divorces occur over money and financial matters than any other issue. When you were single it was pretty easy to manage your finances and pay the bills. It was just you and you controlled everything. But, when you get married things do a 180. It s not just you anymore.

Now, break the budget down into daily, weekly, or monthly categories depending on your situation. This lets both of you see the big picture and know what needs to be done each month.
What this type of financial budget does is help you work together with your spouse or partner. The both of you know what needs to be paid and knows what can be spent.
There are also some ground rules that need to be established such as not holding past debts or other financial problems against one another regardless of how upset you may be.
There is simply no reason for finances to divide any marriage. If you will both work together then you will eliminate this from ever happening in the future.
